Hello!
My Name is Hazel Scanlon and I am an Irish Artist living in Co Carlow. My journey as an Artist began in 2011 . I started off painting realism, “cows” in particular.I am married to a farmer and my love of cows goes right back to my childhood where I spent many a summer on my grandparents farm in Cuffsgrange,Co Kilkenny.
I then began creating Abstract Art and it is definitely where my passion lies . Painting a tangible object has its advantages but Abstract Art gives me such an unrestrictive freedom to create and express. It fills me with excitement as each piece evolves. My paintings are reflective, thought provoking and full of emotion. My perferred medium is acrylic.
My inspiration comes from nature and the world we live in.I paint both from the conscious and subconscious.
I am naturally a very happy upbeat and positive individual and this transpires into all of my paintings where you can see the use of bright cheerful happy colours!
